Co-pathologyrole in clinical presentation of Alzheimer??s Disease Lead Investigator: Stefanie Pina Escudero Institution : University of California, San Francisco E-Mail : stefanie.pina-escudero@gbhi.org Proposal ID : 1534 Proposal Description: 1) This project aims to determine whether there are differences in the co-pathology that is found in individuals with typical vs atypical Alzheimer???s disease clinical phenotype. We hypothesize that co-pathology will play a major role in determining the clinical phenotype. If this is true, this research could contribute to the knowledge about selective vulnerability and help develop targeted therapeutics in the future. 2) We will conduct a cross sectional study in participants with typical and atypical clinical manifestations of Alzheimer??s disease and look at the role that co-pathology such as Lewy body and vascular disease play in the clinical presentations. We will perform a descriptive analysis and build logistic regression models adjustesd by covariates such as sociodemografic factors, clinical variables, genetics and other pathological characteristics.
